Broncos coach Sean Payton on Tuesday confirmed receiver Tim Patrick sustained a “clean” tear of his left Achilles during Monday’s practice.Payton said the surgery date has not yet been set, but that he spoke with Patrick on Monday night and offered what little consolation he could.“Of course he’s disappointed,” Payton said. “The hard thing is for a player who spent most of his offseason rehabbing and to all of a sudden hit another road block. After a short reprieve between April and July, Colorado’s gas prices are once again soaring above the national average.Over the past month, gas prices in Colorado increased nearly 20 cents, putting the state’s average at $3.93 — 17 cents above the national norm, according to data compiled by GasBuddy from 150,000 gas stations across the country.As of Tuesday afternoon, national gas prices hovered at $3.76, Colorado at $3.93 and Denver at $3.92, 16-cent difference. Three people charged in a case of abuse and neglect of six "severely disabled" residents of an unlicensed senior care facility in Riverside have been found guilty, according to a news release from California's Attorney General.Joel Ombao, Ronnel Tiburcio and Nimfa Molina were found guilty of elder abuse for their roles in the neglect and mistreatment of residents at Secure Hands.The victims ranged in age from 32 to 66 and were found malnourished and "living in filth," without basic care in a house that did not have the adequate amenities or licensing to care for them.When investigators entered the facility, they found the victims emaciated and dehydrated and living in "squalor," Attorney General Rob Bonta said.Ombao is the owner of several hospice companies. Tuburcio was his assistant and Molina was a registered nurse at the facility. Two Orange County residents are facing federal charges after allegedly fraudulently obtaining more than $2 million by stealing the identities of homeowners and tricking banks into cashing out mortgages on those properties, according to the U.S. Justice Department.Thao Thi Kim Nguyen, 47, of Garden Grove, and Nghiep Chinh Nguyen, 55, of Westminster, were charged by a federal grand jury and pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Monday.Both are charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. Two-Vehicle DUI Crash near 7th Avenue and Bell Road Left Officer InjuredPHOENIX, AZ (August 1, 2023) – Friday night, an officer was injured following a DUI crash near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Bell Road.The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m., July 28th, when the police officer was headed eastbound on Bell Road and entered the intersection of 7th Avenue.Furthermore, a driver turned in front of the officer and caused a collision.Consequently, paramedics were called to the scene and they transported the officer to a hospital.
