A motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was taken to the hospital Thursday after getting struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver on a busy freeway transition road. The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway and southbound 110 Freeway transition road, according to LAPD.The suspect was driving a black Tesla that was last seen traveling southbound on the 110 Freeway with damage to its front end.Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and took the officer to the hospital. The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its active search for survivors of a plane crash off San Clemente Island.The Gates Learjet 36A was carrying three people when it crashed Wednesday morning roughly one mile southwest of the island, officials said.San Clemente Island is the southernmost of California’s Channel Islands and is managed by the U.S. Navy.Coast Guard and U.S Customs and Border Protection crews on Wednesday located a debris field in the area where the plane is believed to have gone down. (KRON) -- A man arrested in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Fairfield man at a Safeway in American Canyon has been convicted of first-degree murder, the Napa County District Attorney announced Thursday. Christopher "Roly" Young was charged in the shooting death of Nathan Gabriel Garza in August of 2020.
